The Rotary Club of Greater Fairview, in partnership with Barangay Cupang, continues its commitment to creating lasting impact through meaningful community service. On September 13, 2026, the Club conducted a Community Pantry and Vegetable Growing Campaign at Sitio Tamenggo Basketball Court, Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City.

The initiative provided food assistance to 300 recipients, offering families essential food items while promoting the spirit of sharing, compassion, and community solidarity. More than simply providing immediate support, the project also sought to encourage families to explore sustainable ways of meeting their nutritional needs.

As part of the campaign, the Club distributed educational brochures on “How to Grow Your Own Vegetables in Your Backyard.” The material provides practical information on choosing the right location, preparing the soil, selecting vegetables suited to the local climate, planting methods, proper watering and care, natural pest control, and harvesting.

The campaign highlights how even a small backyard can become a source of fresh and nutritious food. Growing vegetables such as kangkong, saluyot, talong, okra, ampalaya, sitaw, pechay, upo, and kamatis can help families access healthier food while encouraging greener and more sustainable communities.

The Rotary Club of Greater Fairview expresses its sincere gratitude to Barangay Captain Peter Jr. for warmly welcoming the Club and supporting this community initiative. Special appreciation is also extended to his father, affectionately known as “Big Boss Peter,” for his valuable support and partnership in serving the community.

Through this project, the Club hopes to inspire families not only to receive assistance but also to discover opportunities to grow their own food, share their harvest, and help one another.

From a community pantry to a backyard garden, every small act of service can grow into something bigger.
